Square a Number between 50 and 60

We will be square a number between 50 and 60. Here, we will be squaring the numbers 56, 52, 54, and 58 respectively. We can find the answer to the questions by taking two simple steps as given below:
The first step, Square the digits in the units place and put it as the right-hand part of the answer. (If it is a
single digit then convert it to two digits).
In the second step, add 25 to the digit in the units place and put it as the left-hand part of the answer.

Ex-1. Find the square of 56.
56x56• In this first example, we have to square 56. In this case, first, we square the digit in the units place ‘6’ and get the answer as 36. We put 36 as the RHS (right-hand side) part of our answer. (Answer at this stage is __ 36)
• Next, we add 25 to the digit in the units place, which is 6 here. 25 + 6 = 31, the answer is 31 which is the LHS (left-hand side) of our answer. So the complete answer is 3136.

Ex-2. Find the square of 52.
52x52
• In this example, we square 2 and get the answer 4 which we will put on the RHS (right-hand side) part of our answer. However, the RHS should be a two-digit number. So, we convert 4 to a two-digit number and represent it as 04 instead of 4.
• Now, we add 25 to 2 (25 + 2 = 27) and get the LHS (left-hand side) answer is 27. The complete answer is 2704.

Ex-3. Find the square of 54.
54x54
• In the given example, we square 4 and get the answer 16 which we put on the RHS.
• Next, we add 25 to 6 (25 + 4 = 29) and we get the LHS as 31. So, the complete answer is 3136.

Ex-4. Find the square of 58.
58x58
• In the given example, we square 8 and get the answer 64 which we put on the RHS.
• Next, we add 25 to 8 (25 + 8 = 33) and we get the LHS as 33. So, the complete answer is 3364.
